Cross Country (XC) is a FALL sport that is open to any WHS student (no tryouts). It is an exciting running adventure that involves competing in 3-mile races across different types of terrain. Courses vary from extremely flat to challenging hills. Every healthy runner will compete at each event. Summer training is required for all athletes wishing to compete in the Fall. Summer practices are held most mornings from 8am to approximately 10:00am. During the school year, practices will be every day from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Students participating in Cross Country will be scheduled to the Cross Country PE class for the 1st semester. There is no off-season for Cross Country, but students will have the option of transferring into Track & Field for the 2nd semester. For more information, visit the WHS XC and T&F website. Current students interested in joining XC should contact the coach directly. Incoming Freshmen should submit the WHS Sport Interest Form prior to May 1st or contact the coach directly after May 1st.
