With a third place Marmonte League finish and drawing the 32nd seed in CIFSS Division 1, the Westlake Girls' Soccer team was not supposed to make it this far in the playoffs. However, after upsetting the number 1 seed, J Serra, in the first round, the team rolled past their next two opponents, Roosevelt and Edison, and landed in the Semi Finals playing the Warriors of Troy. The home field advantage was not enough to secure the win for Westlake, and Troy eked out a win by PKs (5-3) after double overtime.
Though the Westlake Warriors won't be crowned the CIFSS Division 1 Champions this year, they have shown they are a team to be reckoned with. They will be playing for a CIF Southern Region Championship beginning March 4th (oppenent and site TBD). Good Luck, Ladies!
